After graduating from the University of Geneva law school, Yves P. PIANTINO joined the law firm of Lalive Budin & Partners in Geneva to practice corporate litigation.

Upon completion of a LL.M. at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., the firm of Creel, García-Cuellar Y Müggenburg asked him to join their Mexico City office to help structure cross-border transactions.

Shearman & Sterling, a New York law firm with an extensive international practice, allowed him to gain experience in mergers & acquisitions and corporate finance transactions, at both their New York and Paris offices, and to specialize in structuring finance transactions and debt offerings. He also contributed several publications during that period.
